Are my shoppers able to see product information when they scan an item’s barcode?

Our recommendation for mystery shopping is to use a pre-existing database. This database is an overall product catalog for all stores that lists product information by UPC. Also, using a validate scans service, shoppers can verify a product’s label against your database. Moreover, with Webify, see the product information from the internal catalog. The response text can include any information you’d like to associate and display with the badge.

Do I need a product database to display product information or is it already attached to the UPC?

Manually or automatically upload a database of barcode values if you want to display information upon scanning. Without a database, it’ll record the code as a direct value with no other information to be given. Also, you can integrate CodeREADr with your server to send and receive information directly.

How can my shoppers add notes, take photos, and/or answer questions about an item?

Using our Questions feature, you can add notes or even specific questions, such as damaged goods and mis-priced items.

Can I see who scanned each item?

By creating different users, you can segment each audit by who has scanned each item.

Can I generate some kind of report each day, week, etc.?

On the Scans page, you can filter and view a report of audits conducted on certain dates. Also, you can automatically export those records to Excel, Google Sheets, etc.

Can I make the app look any different? For example, can I change what it says when a label is invalid or include my company’s logo?

You can customize the display of the response screen and change the response text. Also, there are both free and paid options for white labeling the app to include your logo.

Does pricing depend on how many shoppers we have?

Every paid plan has unlimited scans available. Also, our pricing model is per device. For example, we count a device as billable if your authorized app-user signs in during your monthly billing period. Moreover, the monthly count is not based on concurrently used devices. Instead, it’s the total number of unique devices that signed in during your monthly billing period. Furthermore, each month, this count resets and each device sign-in counts towards your plan limit.

Do we need special hardware to scan UPCs?

CodeREADr is compatible with most devices. For example, it works with iOS, Android, and mobile computers. However, we do not sell any hardware. Thus, it is up to you to decide on which devices you will use CodeREADr.

What if there isn’t a good internet connection in our store?

CodeREADr works offline and online. For example, conditional validation and cross-device duplicate checking require internet connection. However, you can verify a ticket against a database and download offline.
