Barcode scanner app validates parking permits
Whether for a gated or non-gated parking lot, you can now easily track registered vehicles to detect unauthorised or delinquent vehicles and monitor lot usage by date, time and location. In addition, you can easily alert the vehicle owner of parking infractions or for leaving their lights on.
Facilities with parking management systems integrate codeREADr within their application to add intelligent mobility and reporting; alternatively, they, or facilities without such systems, use codeREADr as a stand-alone tool.
In managed lots, a typical deployment includes creating a validation database of random IDs, each associated to the name, license plate and contact information of the employee, resident, member or guest. QR code labels (or other barcode types) with simple IDs are printed and issued to each vehicle owner for affixing to their windshield or for placement on their dashboard.
Note: You can print QR labels/badges/tags using low-cost programs, such as iBarcoder for PC and MAC (~$50.00). Alternatively, you could buy pre-printed decals or hangtags from companies like My Parking Permit with Code 128 barcodes or QR codes.
The parking lot attendant uses codeREADr to scan the barcode. If there’s no barcode, they use the app’s lookup feature to search for the vehicle by the license plate number or owner’s name.
With each scan, you can give the attendant directed information about that specific vehicle. For example, you could indicate if the vehicle hasn’t paid their monthly fee and include their phone number and/or the phone number of a towing service. If the vehicle is delinquent, blocking an exit, or has a flat tire, open window, fluid leak, etc., the app user could then call the vehicle owner. or tow service immediately. You can also prompt the app user to enter specific information regarding the vehicle by adding manual entry forms (via text or speech), multiple choice questions and photo capture, all of which become part of formal scan record with timestamps.
