GS1 Connect 2026 was an excellent opportunity for CodeREADr to demonstrate two practical technologies for logistics, labeling, and supply chain accuracy: our carton and pallet indexing workflow, and our scan-to-print GS1 barcode labeling workflow.

The reaction from attendees was clear: people were genuinely impressed by how simple these workflows can be.

Carton and Pallet Loading

For our carton and pallet loading and unloading verification demo, many attendees focused on the simplicity of the process. Instead of requiring a complex ERP, WMS, or TMS integration, the workflow uses structured barcode data and the CodeREADr app to verify that the right cartons, cases, pallets, or shipments are being loaded, unloaded, received, transferred, or staged.

The comment we heard most often was: β€œIt’s so simple.”

That was especially meaningful because the traditional approach often relies on backend integrations, custom development, and IT resources that many logistics operations either lack or cannot justify for every dock, route, customer, or warehouse workflow. With CodeREADr, companies can start with a no-integration deployment, quickly prove value, and integrate later if needed.

Scan-to-Print

Our second demo showed how an app user can scan an existing UPC barcode and immediately print a smarter GS1-compliant label. Depending on the configuration, the printed label can include a GS1 Digital Link QR code, a GS1 DataMatrix, a GS1-128 /Code 128 barcode, or additional GS1 Application Identifiers such as lot, serial, expiration date, count, weight, or SSCC.

The common reaction was: β€œIt basically eliminates human error when labeling items, cartons, cases, and pallets.”

That response captured the value perfectly. Manual relabeling is prone to errors: the wrong item, the wrong data, the wrong format, the wrong label, or missing information. By scanning the existing barcode first, automatically transforming the data, and printing the correct label on-site, CodeREADr helps make the labeling process faster, more consistent, and more reliable.

Practical ways to improve supply chain accuracy

The larger takeaway from GS1 Connect 2026 is that companies want practical ways to improve supply chain accuracy without waiting for large system projects. Whether the goal is verifying loading and unloading, correcting non-compliant labels, preparing for GS1 Sunrise 2027, or improving carton, case, and pallet identification, the best solutions are often the ones that make complex processes easier for the people doing the work.

That is exactly where CodeREADr is focused: simple, standards-based workflows that reduce errors, improve accountability, and help companies move from manual processes to smarter data capture.
