Honeywell Captuvo Scanning Sled
The codeREADr app is integrated with Honeywell’s Captuvo series barcode scanning sleds for iOS devices. They offer fast, accurate point and shoot barcode scanning with a rugged case and high-performance battery for up to 12 hours of extended use.
In the iTunes App store, simply download the ‘codeREADr Production’ app. After that, in the app’s settings, select “Captuvo Support”. Also, you should set up the Captuvo device with a carriage return suffix. Moreover, when creating your codeREADr service, on the Advanced step check the box to disable the built-in camera. In that way, you can use the hardware button on the Captuvo.
Honeywell Scan Pal EDA50 Handheld Computer
The Honeywell ScanPal EDA50 is one of many ‘hybrid’ devices that have built-in scanning hardware. We have not tested this device ourselves but like most of these types of devices, by default it should work in the keyboard emulation mode (‘scan wedge’). Read more about keyboard emulation.
Honeywell Dolphin Black Handheld Computer
Similarly, the codeREADr app is integrated with Honeywell’s Dolphin Black 75e (Wi-FI only) and Dolphin Black 70e (Wi-Fi and network 3G) enterprise-ready, barcode scanning handheld computers running the Android OS. Notably, they offer fast, accurate point and shoot scanning with a rugged case and high-performance battery for extended use.
Likewise, simply download the codeREADr app from Google Play. After that, you should set up the Dolphin devices with a carriage return suffix. Also, when creating your codeREADr service, on the Advanced step check the box to disable the built-in camera. In that way, you can use the Dolphin’s hardware button.
1. For the 70e, the codeREADr app user must initiate the primary scan using the Manual Entry option within the app. With the 75e, the app user can scan on the main codeREADr ‘Tap to Scan’ (or ‘Scan’) Screen.
2. To enable the carriage return suffix (on at least the 70e): go to Apps, find Power Tools, click on Scan Wedge, click on General Settings, under Suffix Key add the ASCII code for carriage return “13”.
3. Please contact Honeywell or their distributors for general information on how to set up the device for your use case.
